Microsoft Should Not Retire Windows XP

Author: Buildacomputerguide.com Editors

Microsoft has been planning to retire Windows XP in June of 2008 for some time now. But a large uprising has begun to save this old friend from extinction.

So Whats the Problem?

Many people have realized, (including this computer user) that Microsoft Vista is not all it was promised to be. Personally, I have uninstalled it from my main machine at home and gone back to Windows XP.

Slow file copying and some serious problems running some of my favorite software apps put the final nail in the coffin. Windows XP isn’t glitzy, doesn’t have a cool transparent looking interface that zooms in and out, and doesn’t have a widget toolbar to add a bunch of stuff onto. But who cares? Windows XP gets the job done and is stable. I know it works and when I want to get something done I can count on it.

Hear Our Cries

So hopefully Microsoft will hear the call and reconsider retiring the best OS that they have ever produced. Windows Vista does have its good points, but the overall experience is just not worth it. Let us have a choice until the next 'latest and greatest' Microsoft OS hits the market.
